Throughout Caroline Springs there are significant protected native grassland areas including the Oakwood Grasslands and cypress views Themeda Grasslands which often include rare and threatened native species.

CS on Grass is a local community group formed to assist Lend Lease and the Melton Shire Council in the management of the critically endangered plain grassland reserves located in Caroline Springs. The reserves consists primarily of three large patches and many smaller patches covering 14 hectares with the construction of an elevated walkway and viewing tower in Cypress Views West. 2.5m wide paths to be constructed throughout the estate join the reserves together forming part of the walk/bike network to be built throughout Caroline Springs. Navigate this site to see what we plan to do and for some thought provoking content on grassland conservation.
