GreenPass Plant of the Month- Carex Testacea

Carex Testacea is an ornamental clumping grass that grows to .50 x 60m. It has fine attractive foliage made up of bronze, orange and lime green tones, with the orange tones intensifying in Autumn.

Carex Testacea looks fantastic planted en masse within a landscape design; clumps planted together can create sweeping patterns in the landscape. It can be used as a border plant, or planted in between plants with dissimilar form such as rounded clipped English box or ground cover Scleranthus biflorus to create an effective contrast. Carex also makes a great pot plant, and being tolerant of moist soils it can be planted around ponds.

Carex testacea looks at home in coastal style gardens, in contemporary and cottage style gardens. Plant in full sun to with good drainage.
