Civil handover plan
|
Now home to over 19,500 residents, Caroline Springs will eventually be made up of 18 villages. As each village reaches completion of the physical assets (parks, linear walkways, hike and bike trails, roads etc) their maintenance is handed over to Melton Shire Council (MSC) after a period of eighteen months of being maintained by Lend Lease. This allows a gradual handover of responsibility and a smooth transition to Council.
Most villages have already been handed over with the exception of The Domain, The Grange, The Esplanade, Ridgewater and late stages of Cypress Views.
Engineering maintenance of civil assets (roads, footpaths, service pits, street lights and signs) is handed over to Council generally after 3 months.
Melbourne Water are responsible for most of the waterways and the immediate banks surrounding them. The parkland around the water bodies are a Council asset.
To report hazards/missing or damaged items all residents are invited to utilise the My Street! reporting program regardless of their villages’ status.

Please note these plans are regularly updated. Updated in October 2011.
